Michael Bissett-Powell
- In the 1920's there was no fire brigade in Freshwater, so the local "Rover" scouts
(the older ones now called Venture Scouts) decided to get their own brigade together, using their black hut as a base, situated on the green opposite the school and very near to the Kings Bridge fire station. The exact location is Black Hut Green, for obvious reasons, but it isn't noted on any map.
Damon Corr
- First occupied by the Rover Scouts FB from 1929 until approximately 1937 |
